Meet Dr. Charles W. Schwimer, DMD
Dr. Charles W. Schwimer is a Board Certified Periodontist and has practiced Periodontics and placed Dental Implants since 1987.
Dr. Charles Schwimer maintains a full-time private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA limited to periodontics and implants, specializing in biologically based preservation and he received his BS degree in Psychology and later received his DMD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985. Dr. Schwimer Received his speciality certification in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and his Branemark implant certification from the TIP training center at Columbia University in 1987. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1993, Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania school of Dental Medicine.
Most recently Dr. Schwimer focuses upon the clinical advancement of Partial Extraction Therapies and Osseodensification. Dr Schwimer is the creator and owner of SPoT® Site Preservation of Tissue. Dr. Schwimer provides “state of the art” Periodontal and Implant treatments in a personalized and caring environment.
Dr. Charles Schwimer offers immediate implant placement and provisional implant crowns when indicated.
Dr. Schwimer offers Laser surgery and utilizes digital imaging technologies including CBCT radiograghs and intraoral photography to ensure quality patient care and communication.
Dr. Schwimer held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor and taught Postdoctoral Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. He lectured on the use of the Laser in Periodontal treatment, and continues to be active with continuing education to ensure he is proficient in current concepts and treatment modlities.
Socket Shield/Partial ExtractionTherapy (PET) and Osseodensification are 2 new areas of implant dentistry in which Dr. Schwimer is an internationally renowned expert. He continues to lecture in the United States and Internationally.
